Honestly, one of the greatest novels I’ve read. Speaks to me so deeply in its philosophy and worldview that it almost doesn’t matter how crazy funny it is.
This book seemed right up my alley. So I bought it. Turned out I was wrong.

Gosh I wanted to love this, but it just didn't make me actually laugh or chuckle very much at all.
So I just didn’t get this. It was suppose to be funny but all I kept thinking was these characters are nutty in the head. Recommended by Close Reads and I obviously must be missing something as it went over me. The author recently died and he and his books were listed as must read American fiction. I am glad it was on Hoopla so I could just hit play and not worry if I missed some crucial passage as I didn’t find one.
