I can’t believe I’m saying this..... but I preferred the movie.
Very cute and funny. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

I started off this book severely disliking it. I've got absolutely no head for shopping so in reading Becky at first, I felt as though she was some sort of weird alien and couldn't understand her obsessive and covetous shopaholic nature at all. Actually, I sort of hated her because she was so frivolous and all she did was pant after scarves or shoes or boots and I wanted to bash her into the wall and knock some sense into her.
Somewhere along the line (and all during the course of a day), I went from actually telling people I didn't like it and dreading the thought of wasting more time with it to sitting in the parking lot and reading it instead of driving home, to parking my butt down and finishing it off along with a late night cup of tea. And now that I'm done, I'm still somewhat baffled that it provoked such a wide array...because (yes, I'll admit it) in the end I actually enjoyed it. I liked that it got worse and worse before it got better, liked the fact that it was completely ridiculous, and loved the Englandisms.
I guess I have a weird relationship with chick lit - it seems so superficial as a genre that I feel slightly shamefaced for enjoying it, and yet on the rare occasion that I do read it, I usually do enjoy it. A girl's gotta have distraction to take her mind away from heavier things, right?

I have a Rebecca inside me . I think every girl does. cute, honest ,funny and very much relatable - that's what make me like this book.
Light read that is ideal for a beach-or-lazy-vacation read. It is mindless dribble that I found it too "Hollywood typical."

Sadly this book annoyed me too much to finish, whilst it was a fun idea I just didn't enjoy it and found it really repetitive.

Read this book years ago, just when the Shopaoholic series starting to get more attention. Reminds me of Bridget Jones, but this time the heroine has problem with her shopping habit besides the general life problem (though some might argue that's not too far of a difference). An interesting read for those never read of the series.
