I was really shocked by how different the book and the movie are! Normally the movie doesn't stray too far from the movie, but the movie had so many different things that never actually happened! I was a little upset! The book was way, way better than the movie, though I did wish Luke Brandon was in there a tad bit more. Rebecca Bloomwood is definitely a shopaholic, and it was really entertaining reading about her dodging bills and shopping more and more and creating excuses for the banks. The only downside is she made me feel like I was in debt! Rebecca is definitely a great well-written and witty character, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading from her perspective. All the characters were really well done, and the story was really nice too. The end was awesome, I couldn't have come up with a better ending in a million years, it was so clever and such a great way for the whole thing to be fixed. They end was also nice, I was very happy about that! Overall I fell in love with this book and am so glad I read it! I cannot wait to get my hands on the next!
Can't seem to understand the hype behind this book series. I haven't encountered such a stupid character since Bridget Jones. Becky is stupid, lying, having massive financial issues yet I'm supposed to like her and root for her? Hell no! Shopaholism is a serious psychic problem that needs to be treated and not celebrated. If this is a role model for young girls these days, then God help us!
