I read most of this series back in early high school, and then reread a few of them in college too. So this is actually my third time reading this series. It’s wild that when I first read these, Becky seemed like such an adult with her job and apartment and whatnot, whereas now I’m reading them and she’s actually younger than me!
They’re such light, fun, easy to read books. Great palate cleansing reads. Becky’s spending antics can get a bit repetitive and they honestly stress me out a bit, but I love seeing how she manages to pull everything together in the end and triumph. Plus, I love all the descriptions of the fabulous designer clothes that I’ll never be able to afford in real life (no wonder Becky is constantly in debt!).

It is a great fun read. I laughed and laughed out loud at all the justifications she uses to explain away her purchases. I think every 18 year old girl should have to read it before getting her first credit card!
It also shows well how the web of deceit and lies can grow and grow and render a person completely hopeless and feeling like they cannot get out.
It has a great love interest -- I always like it when the romantic interest is an arch enemy too!

Perfect fluff chick lit, a great respite from anything serious
This book and the sequels that followed are fun, upbeat reading, just right for a summer afternoon or something to take on vacation. The main character is funny and enjoyable, and you can't help but laugh at the way she rationalizes all her purchases and impromptu decisions. If you want a book you can just pick up and get into and have some laughs, these are for you.
