Paul Holes has such a fascinating experience in law enforcement, and I think his viewpoint is refreshing. His vulnerability in this book doesn't go unnoticed. I hope that he can continue to heal from the challenges he endured trying to help others. I find cold cases fascinating and hearing from and about someone who has worked on so many is a privilege!

it was good sometimes wish there was more focus on how they solve the cases
Audiobook review.
As a true crime junkie, I was excited to read this book.
Pros: I found the book to be engaging and interesting. It held my attention throughout a long solo drive. I particularly liked the scientific detail.
Cons: Paul Holes’ diction is extremely off-putting. It took a while to get used to and then it became incredibly annoying towards the end (admittedly this was the end of my Labor Day Weekend drive from the beach so maybe I was just more annoyed). I thought it could use some editing. In the spirit of objectivity, the science stuff could be too technical for some people who are not science-oriented.

Ugh he just sounds like an asshole
I could NOT but this book down! It was so interesting to hear about Paul’s life and the cases he worked on. I’ve heard the story of the golden state killer and some of these other cases before many times, but reading this book was like hearing everything for the first time, in a new way. All true crime lovers should read this.
It's hard hearing how much the GSK had an effect on people like Michelle and Paul. I listened to Paul read his book and enjoyed every minute. Thank you Paul for your work and time away from your family. It's amazing how much GSK consumed you and Michelle. Because of your tireless work he's not behind bars. Thank you for telling your story.
