Couldn’t stop listening! Paul really gets vulnerable and does a great job of talking about vulnerable personal moments and the cold cases he’s worked on. A great book and must read for True Crime fans!
As a Murderino and now certifiably "hot for holes", I loved this book. I thought it was an amazing look into Paul's life, his cases both forensically and personally. As a forensic scientist myself, I appreciated the real steps and details of cases, not the stuff we see on tv and in other procedural stories. It was engaging and had a lot of heart. Highly recommend for any true crime junkie.
This book is worth listening to as an audio book just to hear Paul’s voice. In all seriousness, it was a great read and was interesting to hear the behind the scenes of the cases he worked on and how to dealt (or didn’t deal) with the cases in his personal life.

A very readable account of Paul Holes's career, Unmasked also touches on the impact on his personal life of his often single-minded devotion to that career. Naturally, there is graphic content, so this isn't a book for everyone. It includes descriptions of horrific deaths, crime scenes, and the effects of loss on the living.
While many cases are covered - including some which still remain unsolved at the time of writing - there is a through-thread following one of the most famous cases which was only recently solved, that of the Golden State Killer.
Fans of true crime will enjoy #UnmaskedBook.
