OH MY! Ms Johnson has done it again with another 5 star read! I am late to the party here, but, better late than never.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Simon & Schuster for this advanced readers copy. This book released in February 2023.

This wasn't the book for me. I went into it blind and I'm not sure what I was expecting. I thought the plot and the story had such potential but I found the characters to be a bit flat and one-dimensional and the prose itself to be elementary. I had so much hope in the first quarter of the book, however, for me it was a slow build to nowhere.

Heavy story, but very much worth the read. My first book by this author and I plan to read Yellow Wife in the near future. This book is thought provoking and the audiobook's narration was top notch.
