"Don't ever look at another man with lust, unless you want him dead."
This was the very first time I read a work of Ms. Kresley Cole. Imagine how much I regretted not delving into her universe earlier. She had a way with words that literally ensnared me. I felt myself unraveling along with Natalie during her encounters with Sevastyan—Aleks now since his lil' bro used with that name too. In his story.
The book was like Fifty Shades of Grey plus Russian Bratva elements. I didn't mean it as a bad thing, considering that I harbor a dislike on FSoG. Actually it was a good thing.
Half of the time that Natalie was with Aleks, she became horny and he brought out her submissive side, Natalya, or so she called it. Something that immensely annoyed me in the first part of the story. I could understand the horny part.
With Aleks, well, he reminded me of a Highlander's overbearingness and possessiveness. Oh, and with the way he talks too using words like 'bespoil' and 'seed' when referring to his…milk. (You know what I mean). His actions confused the hell out of me, though. Just like Natalya, my manalyzer didn't work on him. I had no idea what to make of him. My brain and lady parts were honestly baffled with him. He was so unpredictable in a hot way.
While I knew that this was an erotica so it was centered more on the sex, the BDSM scen and all that, a part of me just wanted to be more acquainted more with the Russian Bratva scene. Since the whole story was told on Natalie's perspective, which didn't reveal a lot of details since she was shielded most of the time from the coldness and cruelty of the world she now lived in, I really didn't see much of it.
Am I going to recommend this? Fuckyeah. If you love eroticas, you'll definitely love this. Get ready to have your world rocked! It's
3.5 stars. This book skirted the line of hot and cold too often for me. I liked Sevastyan; he was the definition of alpha male but something felt off. Natalie was way too flighty. She gave him chance after chance to open up and was understanding when he did, but it seemed like she just couldn’t make up her mind. I also couldn’t get behind the writing style, it was too formal and there were so many exclamation points.

Definitely a switch from her supernatural romance novels but none the less K. Cole nailed it once again. Sexy, hot, serious and sarcastic characters. I look forward to reading the next two in the series.
I had heard of Kresley Cole but never read any of her books until now .
Since I read the first part of The Professional and I absolutely loved it I couldn't wait to get my hands on the full book.
WOW!! I absolutely love this book and I couldn't put it down. I read it on the weekend and I just was hooked on this one and right away after I was done reading it I just had to pre-order this book.
Very well done. I highly recommend The Professional.

I've read the second installment first, and this paled in comparison.
I usually like romance novels that are a bit darker but this one doesn’t work for me.
medium-paced
Yeah probably a 1.5 for me but I'm feeling generous.
