2.5 It's a funny and steamy read, but too naive and dominating (you know in what sense) for me. They get married after knowing each other so little and she gives up everything to be with him. To me, I don't understand how someone doing a PhD in Gender Studies would give up all that she is for a man and be happy doing basically nothing all day but waiting for him in the house. The excuse given in the book about just doing it because it was easy doesn't do it for me. One simply does not get a PhD because you're bored in my opinion.

I was provided a copy of this book by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I heard this book described as 50 Shades of Grey in Russia, and I can see why some might say that. This book has a tortured, dark antihero and steamy BDSM scenes. I much preferred Sevastyan to Christian Grey however.

The Master and the Player are 100 better. Glad I read them before this one.

I’m embarrassed to say this book was actually good cuz I don’t read YA romance. But what can you do 🫠

Such a powerful read. The female lead was a bit frustrating at times and so was the subterfuge but all in all worth the time.

The sex scenes were scorching hot and the best part about the book.

Skimmed it. Only really enjoyed the ending
