Wow! That was one intense book...in more than one way lol. The story is unrealistic and far fetched, but very addicting and fun to read. Don't let the word 'fun' deceive you though because the plot takes a 180 and gets super intense at the halfway point.

The first 60% of the book was on point—the sexual tension and the pay off were so damn good. But after that things started getting too repetitive for me. The hero barely communicated with the heroine and the heroine kept trying to get him to talk. She would make all these compromises and their relationship would move one step forward. But then the relationship moves a step backward the next day because the hero would distance himself again. Rinse and repeat. It's not until the last 10% of the book that the heroine decides she's had enough and makes a drastic move.

Some of the scenes were definitely out of my comfort zone, but that's to be expected because I don't usually read erotic romance. I can't say that I love the hero and heroine. They both annoyed me throughout the book, but regardless of that and the back and forth, they were surprisingly really good together as a couple. The hero was WOW! I don't have words LOL. He was so intense, in both a good and bad way. He takes the word Alpha to a whole new level. Like...wow.

I really liked the world of Russian mafia and the setting overall. I'm also intrigued by the other two brothers so I can't wait to continue reading!

This is a mafia story that is a standalone in the series. Some violence, no abuse towards the heroine. The hero is considered one of the most dangerous and is very moody but also very possessive and protective. The heroine is more of a good girl who isn't afraid sexually even though she's a virgin. That probably doesn't make sense but it will once you read it.

I actually struggled to like the first part of this book. The Hero obviously wants the heroine but it seems like he hates that he wants her. I'm not the biggest fan of this type of pushing away. This is when it pays to keep reading. You learn some information that completely changed my view on him. By the end, I absolutely loved him. I love when a book pulls a 180 like that. I'm looking forward to the others in the series.

I did not like this book much. I've read a bunch of Kresley Cole's other books from the Immortals After Dark series but this Russian Mafia alpha type was not for me. There was a lot of "my woman" and domineering attitudes.
The plot: Russian hit man is sent to the US to watch over and in turn kidnap his boss' newly discovered 24yr old daughter. She is carried out of her house in barely any clothes, put on a plane and taken to a fortress somewhere in Russia where she is expected to live as a protected Russian "princess." I won't be rereading this one.

This is my favorite bonkers series. My least favorite of the 3 but always a great reread.

This is my first mafia romance, and I have mixed feelings. The romance aspect was fantastic, there was emotional maturity and conflict, lots of spice, and the characters felt like real-ish people. Sadly everything else was lacking and cliche.  Maybe I was expecting too much on the mafia side, I wanted to see crimes or feel a sense of danger. But we didn't get any of that, just some over the top scenes that you can see in movies.

If you like steamy sex scenes and not much of a plot then this is the book for you.
I was expecting more as this is one of my favourite authors, it’s good writing I just like more of a story rather than things added in between sex to fill out the pages
