This book was fine. It didn’t quite sparkle like the first one, but certainly still had its charms. I appreciate the resolution of Tobias and Silver’s relationship, and I enjoyed how the world was expanded, even if I was once again vaguely confused. At the end of the day, I could have done without this one, but it was by no means a waste of my time.

Ah this book, this book.. I have no words to describe how beautiful, how warm, and how heartfelt it was. I delayed reading it because I was sure I could not savor it in the daylight as much as I could in the nighttime, with the company of Ludovico Einaudi's music. And it was worth it. I read it slowly, just a hundred pages or so, but I took my time and read every word slowly. It was a kind of magical experience that happened seldom. I'm glad about the ending, I kind of predicted but it was beautiful nonetheless.

I’m afraid Silver is just not as compelling as a POV character. He’s kind of whiny! Granted his whining is somewhat justified, but it’s a contrast from Tobias’ stoicism.
Maud, on the other hand, was great, and while it probably wouldn’t have worked with the plot, I wish the story could have been from her POV instead.
Overall, not quite as well-put-together as the first book, but still worth reading as a follow-up.

Just faded away into the background, I wasn't particularly in the story and just kind of forgot about it and never finished it... I really wanted to like the second book more because I was a bit disappointed I didn't love the first book, and I read this sequel was very different and better. And I do think it was, I like the change of perspective, and it was a bit funny in the plot too. But still, didn't grab me. Oh well
