I wasn’t expecting this to be in Silver’s POV but it was fun, a lot cheekier in tone since it’s Silver, and I think because of this change, it’s a lot less atmospheric and intriguing than the first book, which was in the POV of Tobias, who was much more serious, mysterious - a more perfect fit for an atmospheric fantasy story (which was the first book). I didn’t dislike Silver’s character but I did miss the whole mood of the prequel, it felt more magical and whimsical. But this was definitely far more action-packed, and I loved it. This seems to had more going on compared to the prequel but I think I still enjoyed the first book more, and with Bramble (my favorite character in this duology) barely here in this sequel, first book is better.
