Charming! Funny!!!! I’d call this a spiritual ancestor to the Bridget Jones books in a flattering way. Had a much better time as soon as I started taking the book a LOT less seriously. Super clear the book is a close POV of our main character, Jane, in a small midwestern town, and that helped me with my perspective. I really appreciated the way Heiny let us read Jane’s spiraling thoughts and her silly relief. Just like being in a small town, I ended up feeling fond of everyone in the book — a cast full of Characters.
Just ok...
Could not keep me interested.. ended up skimming the end

This one was just okay for me. I like the author’s style of writing, but it felt a little dragged out. I’ll give another book of hers a try!
This hit a real sweet spot for me-funny, honest, true to life, and faith in humanity affirming. The set up makes it sound like more of a rom-com than it really is, but what build in the difference made it even better.
