enjoyable 3.5 rounded down. the biggest thing dragging this down is the romance feeling very surface level, which is unfortunate when much of the final arc hinges on them having a strong connection. i did enjoy the casual mention that he's looking for a woman or man with her eyes, which implies he's queer. which makes sense, cishet gods as a concept is crazy.

Super strong ending and I’m obsessed with Seokga. First half of this book was a slog for me because I found Hani extremely off-putting. I also think the set-up of her teaming up with Seokga made sense but she was so antagonistic that I didn't buy the charade at all.

The God and the Gumiho is a very nice book built around a murder mystery. I found the characters really lovable.
Some plot twists and scenes were predictable but were written in a non-cringey way.
Overall, a nice book to entertain yourself and have a fun time !
