What I loved about this book:

The plane scene and bar scene were both so well written and I could just viscerally *feel* the emotions going on.

The main characters get really good, solid, real, relationship advice from the people in their lives when things get tough.

I actually felt the emotional imperative behind the 3rd act break-up

What I didn't like about this book:

The FMCs friend group dynamic falls really flat for me.

I don't understand (or beleive) the Banks character.

The first spicy scene is somewhat spicy, but then the rest are fade to black?? The one scene that is described wasn't great smut, but it certainly wasn't bad (read: cringy), so maybe the author just knows it isn't her strong suit and left the rest undescribed.

I have been so looking forward to Fling since Flirt came out and Adriana Locke came through. A well-deserved 5-stars and a huge thanks to Adriana Locke and Candi Cane PR for the ebook ARC and Adriana Locke for the audio ARC (Grace Grant and Joe Arden ARE Maddox and Ashley). And fun fact- flamingo poop is NOT pink. Who knew????

Fling follows Ashley who recently broke off her engagement and moved back to her hometown of Kismet Beach where she reconnects with her old childhood friend, Maddox Carmichael. If you’ve read Flirt, you know all the shenanigans pulled by the Carmichael brothers and this book definitely keeps that up. When Ashley is looking for company on her non-refundable honeymoon, her best friends take it upon themselves to find her a “honeymoon” fling and who better than childhood-friend/we-can’t-be-anything-more Maddox Carmichael. They’ve got some of the best banter and chemistry in Adriana Locke’s books and watching them fall for each other kept me turning the page over and over without a break.

If you love friends-to-lovers, fake-spouses, and swimming on an island with pigs, this is the book for you and if this is all you’ve read by Adriana Locke, you’re in luck because her backlist is extensive and phenomenal. Enjoy the adventure!!

Adriana’s book will forever be some of my favorite reads!

I haven’t read a lot of friends to lovers and now I think it’s my absolute favorite!! ❤️
Adriana did so good with Maddox and Ashley’s love story! I was hooked from the very beginning I loved that they had been friends almost there whole life and the flirty banter the whole time was TOP NOTCH!

I literally fell in the love with Maddox from the start I was swooning over his love for Ashley even before they gave in to their chemistry!
Ashley was such a strong FMC after breaking up with her Ex fiancé and moving back I just loved the character development!

The spicy scenes

I loved Flirt so much, but man, these Charmichael boys, I'm going to love each and every one of them! There's drops from other Locke books, which I just loved, and more fun texts! I enjoyed every single word of this book. I lost track of how many times I laughed. She always manages to write these amazing families and characters, you can't go wrong by picking up any one of her books. Friends to lovers is my favorite, and how Maddox and Ashley got themselves to the lovers part was just perfect. I loved this book!

Super cute story with nice and spicy vacation sexy times. Going full steam ahead on a relationship that's been waiting to happen since childhood. Maddox and Ashley were adorable and I love how much of a presence the whole Carmichael family has. You can tell they all love each other.

Quickie review: 3.75 stars. This was cute! I need to check out the rest of the series. This was a fun, sweet, sexy, light, easy, friends to lovers story with good chemistry. Ashley and Maddox adored each other.
