Adriana Locke is the queen of writing contemporary romance series that combine love, laughter and romance but at their heart contain family. This series brings us the Carmichaels and these crazy prank playing brothers are a treat as they each come to find their happily ever after. This book belongs to Maddox as he falls for his childhood friend Ashley in this close proximity, fake honeymoon romance.
Fling is a sweet and steamy, friends-to-lovers small-town contemporary romance. Ashley broke off her engagement and is left with her non-refundable honeymoon. Rather than take it alone her best friends convince her to put a call out on her socials for a man from her past to go with her, with them judging the perfect candidate. Who could be more perfect than serial flirt and childhood friend Maddox? Maddox and Ashley’s chemistry was sizzling and the tension and romance between the two was so well written. Like always in Adriana Locke’s books there are so many memorable scenes and let's just say that now I cannot look at strawberries too without smirking (along with the grapes).
Fling is such a great read that I had devoured it before I was ready and I cannot wait for the next book in the series to get my Carmichael fix. This book is a fun read full of sexy romance, brotherly pranks and the perfect happily ever after.

Maddox and Ashley have been friends for years. They’ve always been flirty but have never crossed the line.
Ashley calls off her wedding to Lord Farquad, she decides to go on her all-inclusive honeymoon to the Bahamas that she paid for. Her friends decide to host a contest to find someone to go with where. Ideally someone who will swim with the pigs with her. (I’ve done that and 10/10 recommend. Honestly one of my best experiences in life)
This was a very well written friends to lovers.

Since I am just a couple hours away from going through the hell that is work on Black Friday, I am going to keep this as short as I can. I wasn’t originally planning on reading this in November, but I had a little more time for reading than I expected this week so I grabbed this one. I just wish it had been good. I like the premise: a woman who ends up not getting married to her fiancé decides to still go on her honeymoon. It’s all prepaid so why not? But she doesn’t like the idea of going alone so her friends set out to find her a date who can join her for four days of sun, sand, and fun. Things get hot in the honeymoon suite but things fall apart as soon as they get home.
It’s an okay friends to lovers/fake marriage at the resort, but a lot of this is just unbelievable and the big third act conflict felt so much like fan fiction in the early 2000s. You were there, you know what I mean. The conflict wasn’t well constructed and there’s this big fight between the new guy and her ex-fiance that ends with a huge fight in the middle of a crowded bar. Over the top. I also felt like I should have connected more with the characters and I just didn’t. I didn’t feel anything for the characters in this one at all. Which is weird for me. I don’t know what the author could have done here to really make me love this one, but I know this just wasn’t my jam.
Banter and chemistry on point. The conflict didn't make sense at all, but they had me rooting for them anyway.
