Adriana Locke

4.03 AVERAGE

No one and I mean no one writes small town, large family stories like Adriana Locke. She writes stories with characters that are real, with realistic insecurities and vulnerabilities that make them so lifelike. I want to be a part of the Carmichael family, I mean I don’t want o be a part of their prank wars, but as for the rest sign me up!

Ashley and Maddox have been best friends since he saved her when they were little by cutting the gum out of her hair. These two have never been successful in relationships but for different reasons, and they didn’t understand their truths until they took a weekend away to the Bahamas and they actually opened their eyes and hearts to some possibilities.

This is a romance, but it is so much more, we have the dynamic of Maddox’s family which is always a fun time, and we get to see the relationships Ashley has with her two best friends. So yeah this is a romance, and I will never look at a strawberry the same way again, it is so much more.

I am a fan of Adriana, I’ve read her entire library of books, I love how she had some references from other books of hers in this story. It was a fun little tickle to my brain, and I’m glad I didn’t miss them. This is an amazing series and I’m so glad I get to read Adriana’s words.

Ashley has recently moved back home to Florida after ending her engagement. Since her ex made her pay for the honeymoon she didn't want to waste the money spent on that, and she wanted to have some fun while she was in the Bahamas.

Her dream is to swim with the pigs and have some fun on the side- if you know what I mean. Her best friends come up with the idea that she should have a contest, that they choose the winner of, to see who will go on her honeymoon with her. This way she can have a fling and not stress about it.

Maddox, her best friend since grade school, runs into her when she moves back to town. He has always been smitten with her and his brothers know it. When they see that Ashley is having a contest they enter to encourage Maddox to do so as well.

Much to Ashleys surprise Maddox shows up on the flight to her honeymoon. She is trying to figure out if this is real and how she can have a fling with Madd and not ruin their friendship. She has always found him attractive but never made a move.

This book was so sweet and I did laugh out loud a few times. Maddox's brother Banks is just the right amount of comedic relief. The relationship between Ashley and Maddox was well developed and their was some very good spice in the book. This book can be read as a standalone!
