This is book two in the Carmichael Family series and is Maddox and Ashley's book.

Mad and Ashley have been friends since early elementary school. Ashley has just ended her engagement a month before the wedding but she still plans on going on the honeymoon she paid for. Enter her besties with a plan!

Maddox has always unconsciously (until he realizes it) measured every girl to Ashley and that's why he's never had a serious relationship. He's very protective of Ashley so no way is she going with some random!

When they both admit that they've always had lustful thoughts about each other, the honeymoon turned into a fling.

I loved the friendship between Mad and Ashley. You could really feel the love they had for each other throughout the entire book.

You also get to see a little more of the other brothers in this book. They really are a riot! Especially Banks! Can't wait for the next book!

Highly recommend!

A bit juvenile and there's a lot of set-up in the beginning that causes the story to take a while before it really gets going. But all in all, a cute read, even if a bit forgettable.

Maddox and Ashley have been friends since elementary school, but when she comes back to town after a broken engagement, Maddox picks up on their flirty banter as something that could be more. When her best friends decide to help her have a fling as she still goes on her honeymoon, imagine her surprise when Maddox shows up. These two agree to a vacation fling, but it's quickly noticed it's so much more than that. You get more of Maddox's brother's and more of Banks's practical jokes, but now we get Ashley's friends added to the mix and let me say, her friends are best friend goals! Run and grab this book, you will NOT be disappointed

Not what I expected, but good nonetheless

The premise of choosing a random(ish) person to take on your honeymoon peaked my interest. I thought 'bed-sharing, forced proximity, 2 of my favorite tropes!' How could I go wrong?

Well, turns out, *semi-spoiler alert*, this book also has my other favorite trope, friends to lovers! It's pretty heavily implied right from the start, so not so spoiler-y, but I wasn't expecting it from the description.

It all comes together a bit too easily, but there's some good steamy scenes.
I enjoy the whole Carmichael family, so I may need to read some of the other books.

4 delicious stars

This was a great friends-to-lovers story, one that I liked a lot because it didn't have typical friends-to-lovers elements that I dislike (or they were slightly different, so they didn't bother me as much). I really enjoyed the friendships, family dynamics, banter and of course, the steam
Spoiler that strawberry scene, whew
.

Ashley and Maddox were great together, both as friends and as lovers. I'm really hoping we get to see more of Ashley's friends in future books and I really liked the humour that the Carmichael's brought (particularly Banks). I haven't read Flirt yet, but it is moving up on my TBR, and I'm excited to read about the rest of the brothers.

I received an arc from the author and Candi Kane PR in exchange for an honest review.

Maddox Carmichael has liked Ashley Thompson since the first day of first grade. As he got older, he thought he didn't deserve a girl like her - and he kind of decided that he'd never fall in love because he thinks it always ends badly, although he has conflicting thoughts since he is the product of happily married Kix & Damaris.

Ashley called off her wedding to Eton for several valid reasons. She still wants to go on her honeymoon/vacation and her friends decide they're going to choose someone good to go along, maybe have a little fling.

It takes very little time for Maddox to realize that the reason he's never fallen in love or had a significant relationship is because for him, Ashley is the only woman who can fill that place in his life.

Very cute story - spicy, just a little drama (quickly resolved).

Slightly Off Topic:
Ashley's friend Becca (from Written In The Scars) is featured in this book. If you're an Adriana Locke fan like me, you'll realize that if you read WITS, you'll want to do it before Fling - maybe even before book 1 Flirt. It's a standalone, but you'll understand Becca better. Also, WITS requires a LOT of kleenex.

Lets Fling it to Forever

Whenever I pick up a family series from this author I think I can't love them more than the last one. BUT oh these Carmichaels are downright entertaining from the very first page to the last.

Maddox Anthony Carmichael is downright delicious. He's real with self-doubt, confidence, charm, and a deliciously dirty talker. Ashley Thompson is understatedly strong. She's stumbling into a fresh start, embracing independence, and getting back pieces she lost of herself.

Maddox and Ashley have been friends since a fateful gum incident in first grade. They have been through it all together but never explored the physical connection that developed as they got older. When Ashley returns to her hometown and runs into Maddox, that once harmless flirting is almost shouting at the both of them to act on it. When Ashley's besties (Sara & Becca) work magic and have Maddox go on her honeymoon, that line they have been tip-toeing around becomes non-existent. Watching them cross that line, not only physically (cause that was outrageously hot, hello strawberries!), but watching them be vulnerable with each other made my heart ache.

One of my favorite things I get from each book is the realness that each character has. Ashley and Maddox both have weight on their shoulders that essentially push them apart, but it's that struggle and watching them make mistakes and learn from them that made me want to hug them. Be prepared to laugh out loud, fan yourself, and need a couple of hugs along the way. Another book, family and couple to add to my favorites.

4.5/5

when ashley ends her engagement but still wants to go on her non-refundable honeymoon, her friends decide to post to social and pick a date for her. the perfect date? her best friend of 20+ years. i adore maddox. he was flirty and always held ashley on a pedastal. they decided to make the most of the vacation because they both always had feelings for each other but didn't want to ruin their friendship. they were really sweet together and i loved their connection and banter. they really were each others soulmate.

I am just adoring the Carmichael family and all of their amazing antics and heartfelt stories. Adrianna Locke stories are always so swoony and sexy, and Fling is such a delightful escape. This friends to lovers, healing from heartbreak, all on an unexpected honeymoon.

This story has such an interesting beginning- heroine Ashley is feeling from her failed engagement. Only she’s stuck with a non-refundable honeymoon…for two. So why not have a contest to see how gets to go with her? But her dreamy, flirty, super faithful friend Maddox comes to the rescue- what’s better than a honeymoon vacation between friends?

Maddox- OMG. He’s just so dreamy. Protective, sincere, understanding, sexy. What I loved the most is how much both of them grapple with the risks of taking their friendship to something more. These two have a LONG history, and there’s a lot at stake. But I adore their chemistry, how easily they connect, how much they open their hearts to each other. There is so much depth to Ashley- her hopes, her insecurities, her baggage. I related so intensely to her.

I love how Adrianna builds in the family elements- these brothers crack me up. And we have a few surprises that make this romance more complicated- but what a beautiful way they find a way together. I love their relationships, their comedic relief, and their deliciousness. And Fling is so heartfelt and heartwarming. I adored it.

I was genuinely laughing out loud and smiling hard because of the humor between characters.
