I've always been a fan of Kristin Chenoweth's acting skills but knew basically nothing about her aside from what I've seen on screen. This memoir certainly took care of that! I loved this book and getting to know Kristin and her life and what led her from growing up in Oklahoma to gracing the sets of Glee and Pushing Daisies or the stages of Wicked which I've never seen but want to SO badly some day. This book is funny and thoughtful and entertaining and wonderful. Loved it.

I am a huge Musical Theatre nut, so I could not wait to read this. I was sad she didn't mention Don, my old voice teacher who taught her. I was REALLY hoping for that. Anyway, I loved it. She is a great writer, and I read this VERY quickly.

What a delight to read. Kristin Chenoweth is funny and charismatic both on the page and as she read the book aloud.

I had NO idea that she and Aaron Sorkin had been an on-again/off again-relationship, probably in part because that was happening while I was in HS and college, but no matter. She ran the gamut of sharing her life from emotions while her mom battled cancer twice, to hilarious when she said that there was too much nature outside and preferred being in it surrounded by plexiglass.

I also loved that her parents didn't warp into stage parents. They wanted to support her in her activities without being forceful. She had the opportunity to have a childhood and pursue her dreams. I wish more parents were like that, versus the horror stories we hear constantly. In addition, her views on what makes a family is beautiful and I agree with it wholeheartedly. Blood isn't the only thing that makes a family, love does too.

It's been 15 years since this came out. I hope she writes another one soon.

I feel like I didn't learn very much about Chenoweth with her autobiography. It was very focused on her religious beliefs and how her faith has impacted her career, but I really wanted more feelings about her career itself. Wicked, Pushing Daisies, etc. I wasn't expecting it to be so focused on her love life and her faith. The only reason it's not a three star review is because listening to the audiobook, which is read by Chenoweth, was just delightful. She's a hoot.

Kristin Chenoweth reads this audio book with all the flare you would expect from Kristin. The love of singing, acting, crashing and growing are in the book. I laughed quite often while listening. This little powerhouse tells it like she sees it. I would recommend listening to this book over reading it.

She is extremely talented and I'll happily listen to her sing & watch her act. My issue is the constant reminders of "my Christian faith" and then in the same breath mocking a flight attendant, off color humor, condescending comments about those whose religious or political views might differ from hers. If you want to be sarcastic and funny, don't hide behind religion to make yourself seem less "wicked".

Also, reminding us every chapter about a failed TV show doesn't make you relatable. This was definitely a let down. In short (no pun intended concerning her height), there was no real point to this book... Or, if there was, I missed it.
