What did I just read?!? The description of the book is misleading. I was so confused for a good portion of this book. It is about Jan in the cottage, but most of the book follows a different story. They do intertwine, but it’s nothing I expected to read. The description should’ve had more information.

CW - infertility/miscarriage/still born.

I could see where the book was heading early on but still hands down best book of the year so far, okay, that's not saying much since we're half way through January, so best book I've probably read in the last year or two. Such a unique plot as well

While I did enjoy this story and it held my interest… I did find it predictable which took away from the “mystery.” It wasn’t exactly the “gripping thriller” that the summary promised.
I found the characters and setting well developed. I felt for the couples that were destroyed by the deceit of the fertility clinic. I was horrified at the actions of the Mollers. I rolled my eyes when the “second generation” children were compared to “human children” as if they *weren’t human due to the atavism.
