A very easy read. I enjoyed the characters and their development within their own story lines, not just together. No third act break up but heart wrenching enough to keep you reading. Very enjoyable. Wrapped up in a nice little bow.

not my favorite from abby ! just didn’t work for me. i thought it definitely had some very sweet beats, but i felt like xavier and samantha were a little thin aside from their traumatic family histories (which i thought she handled really well !! i always appreciate the care jimenez takes w heavier topics). the middle-ish part towards the end felt kind of repetitive at times, but i thought it built to a mostly satisfying conclusion. i feel like i don’t have a ton of thoughts on this book, i had high expectations after really liking yours truly and just for the summer n i just didn’t click w this. felt kinda rushed, i was kinda just okay on this one.

I almost gave this book two stars because I think maybe this genre just isn't for me. But, I finished listening to the audiobook around the same time I finished other stories that were just so sad (or "realistic"). So, at the end of this one, I found myself tearing up at the happy ending I'd been craving.
