4.06 AVERAGE

This one was slightly below average - I keep giving Abby Jimenez a chance because the books are easy to read but this one didn't even give me the satisfaction of good romantic tension and yearning. Personally, I felt that the protagonists fell in love wayyyy too quickly! Which then forced the focus on other characters and the plot. And with a good romance line maybe the unfinished or convenient resolutions could be forgiven, but now they stood out too much.

I received this ARC from Edelweiss Plus, a perk of B&N. So grateful for those little things these days.

My full review will come once the book is released this spring. I am so happy I grabbed a signed, special edition from Barnes & Noble.

It’s clear from the fact that I read this book in one sitting how I feel about it. This is Abby Jimenez’s best work. I am having to wipe my face from the amount of tears I’ve cried. Maybe it’s because “Come on Eileen” holds such a special cherished place in my heart (referenced several times in the story) or it’s the way this book navigates love in its many forms not just romantic or maybe romantic but in a sense that all love is romantic.

Or maybe it’s because the MMC in this book is everything I love about my own Husband. The Airport Dad, the one that makes sure people are taken care of as a form of love.

Anyway. More later. I’m gonna go wash my face and try to exist now.

4.5*

despite the many many rhysand references, this was really well written. the best way to describe this book is to put you in mind of a 2000's romcom which is so tragic yet so hopeful you cannot help but root for the mcs to win even when all odds are stacked against them.

Rare for me to give a romance 5 stars but this one has such heart and depth. A true love story
