Well, this was better than the last couple of her books, and I'm not sure if it's just me, but I swear it feels like someone else wrote or helped her write this... the writing was a lot stronger... just different than the last couple of wishy-washy flip-flopping story lines. Don't get me wrong, SP is still stuck in her love-triangle, but the mystery even seemed a little better than usual.
Still, this series is nothing like it used to be. =(

This one was a lot better than the last couple ones, but I docked a star because it was so obvious who the killer was and Stephanie should've told someone prior to going to her apartment.

Almost made it to the 50% mark before I finally realized: 1/ this series will never be funny again, 2/ Joe stopped being sexy a long time ago and even man of mystery Ranger is dull now, 3/ the sidekicks are getting stupider to make Stephanie look smarter and 4/ nothing will ever change, grow or develop ever again in this series.
Adios Stephanie.
Adios Stephanie.
This one got less than the usual 4 stars for a couple of reasons. Most importantly, I had fingered the bad guy several chapters before Stephanie Plum. This was not nearly enough to make me stop reading, but something important was lost. The only suspense was the slight possibility that I was wrong, but of course I was not. Secondly, while all of Stephanie's tales are less than credible, I found that this book strained my willingness to go along beyond enjoyment.
Having said that, it was a quick read and as always full of fun characters moving fast. On to the next. I will not stop until I have read the entire series.

More like 31/2 stars. Here's to hoping that Stephanie finally picks a guy in the book due out in November. I used to want it to be Ranger .... then I liked Morelli, now I just don't care. I just want the choice to be made so I can move on and not have to be irritated by the indecision anymore.
This series has always made me laugh out loud. I love the ridiculousness of the characters. Lulu, Grandma...they can be laugh out loud funny. But this whole love triangle is wearing so thin with me. Stephanie is not in her early twenties. She is in her thirties and bouncing back and forth is just ridiculous at this point. I got it for a few books. But, it is dragging on and on. No change. Back and forth. While I still find parts of these books funny and I said as long as they made me laugh, I wouldn't quit...well...I think I need to break up with them. I just can't do this back and forth with the guys anymore. It is really played out. I peeked ahead and spoiled myself and I'm seeing no end to this triangle in the next few books. I think I'm just over it. I really, really loved the first books in this series. Maybe someday if the triangle ever ends I will pick it up again and catch up. But, for now, I have way to many on my to read shelf to keep reading the same thing in another book.
Typical recycled series material. They're barely worth reading at this point.
As a big fan of this series, I was severely disappointed in #16, and didn't even look forward to this one like I usually do. I read it when a friend lent it to me. It was still a quick read, but just lacks the laugh-out-loud humor of the first books in this series (although, there were a few good moments). It also seems like Evanovich was more interested in sex than she was in previous books, as there were quite a few more instances than earlier books. Still a fun read, still a fast read, but I feel like we got spoiled and now she's TRYING, but the thrill just isn't there anymore.
If you read from the beginning, some of the information repeats itself. This can be nice if you space out the readings or forget, but when you are reading them back to back it can be a bit frustrating. Other then that this book is right on track with the rest. Favorite part is when Lula talks about food and her stomach, "oh boy, here we go again." I swear these characters are crazy but completely relatable.
