Actually a little heavier than I expected and the characters were younger than I usually care to read about, but in this case I didn't really mind.
Neither of the main characters was overly sympathetic, but they were interesting. They did some stupid things but it was understandable given the information we had about them.
I liked the kid. The ending was a bit rushed.

Thoughts: Really one of my most favorite tropes to read - understand it's not everyone's cuppa. Only wish that Shay had been stronger, but at the same time I can't imagine being able to know how to stand up for yourself with all of her circumstances.
