3.5 Stars.
A little too short for me to really gain an opinion. I'm looking forward to discovering more about these characters.

My first Vanessa Booke listen and I really enjoyed it. This 3 part series kept you wondering what was going to happen next with Rebecca and Nick. We open this series with Rebecca finding her cheating fiance in bed with his co-star. Becca decides to remove herself completely from the situation and moves to New York. On the plane ride there, she meets Nick...only to find out that he is now her boss, and her job is to keep an eye on him and keep him out of the public eye. Nick's father has arranged a marriage for him, so Nick needs to calm his wild ways down. Rebecca and Nick have incredible chemistry from the start, so it's no wonder that they struggle to stay apart. At least Rebecca does. Nick is enthralled with her, does not want to get married to Alison.

There are a few twists and turns in this book. We get to see Miles, Rebecca's ex-fiance again, we meet Nick's sister, Emily and enjoy some time with Tristan, Nick's best friend and Carol, Rebecca's roommate. I am hoping some of these supporting character show up in the next box set of stories!

Gary Furlong creates a world where you can disappear into the story with. His voices for the characters are very well defined, easily differentiated and are well played for both male and female. There are not a lot of male narrators who can pull off the female voice without being irritating, but I found Gary's to be spot on.

--I was given a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

It was simply too short of a book to make a real impression on me but I'm still looking forward to the next volume. Thankfully, it's out or else I would have been too angry about its abrupt ending.

Ball busting good read

This story will hook you in quickly as Rebecca gets ready to make some big changes in her life. Enter in Nicholas and a plane trip to New York. I can’t wait to read what happens next.

Its a well used plot: woman gets dumped by her boyfriend, meets a mysterious stranger who peruses her and she finds passion and love she never experienced before.
I would have enjoyed it more if Rebecca had a different professional relationship with Nicholas and if the arranged marriage with another woman was cut from the story. .

This was my first read of Vanessa Brooke and man am I glad I didn't have to wait for all the parts to come out.

Rebecca is every woman, she's curvy and spunky and everything we want to be in our heads. It was amazing to read her character and watch her grow. From the time we are introduced to her and she is punching someone who deserves it to the very end where I held my breath to see how it was going to end I loved her, I wanted to be her.
Nicholas is everything she is supposed to stay away from, he's everything on her list of don'ts in a man.
"The Run-Like-Hell List: I, Rebecca Gellar, vow that under no circumstances will I fuck sleep with any man especially Nicholas who falls under these:
1. Arrogant.
2. Dangerously handsome.
3. Brooding.
4. Domineering.
5. Possessive.
6. Playboy."

Nick is everything she wants and everything she can't have, from their chance meetings to her new job as the assistant of the owners son she has no room for wanting him. But like a moth to a flame she can't help it.

This story had me not wanting to put it down, I read the set in a day and was left still wanting to know more about them!
Go get this series you'll love it!
