I really enjoyed this book. It was reminding me of Carnegies Maid but better and more so how I would have liked it to happen really. I thought it ironic and a nice twist that she went to pretend to be a maid but once there, asked to pretend to be a lady. Too funny. Had enough humor and interaction to keep it fun and of course a little more incite to my favorite character, Lord Bryant whose story is portrayed in the third book.

This was such a funny story! Patience was such a fun and spunky regency heroine and Anthony was the perfect balance with his planning and serious nature. I love how this story was unique is Patience posing as a maid in order to prove to her brother that she is not stuck up. As someone who grew up with older brothers, I understand her feelings on this! And I love how Anthony broke his normal proper routine throughout the book and realized he needed that bit of fun in his life while Patience needed the more serious side too. The perfect villain was also written in this novel, Miss Morgan, and I love how her part in this story ended. Overall, this GORGEOUS cover holds an even more beautiful story within its pages. I think Esther hatch is quickly pulling ahead as one of my favorite new regency authors.

Okay. I know the plot was silly and it still was until the end, but Boy! did the lovely leads made up for it. I don't care anymore, I loved the serious but eccentrically sweet Anthony.
and can I just say THAT WAS THE MOST CHARMING AND UNIQUE PROPOSAL I'VE EVER READ, PERIOD...

SO I'm pretty sure Esther Hatch is now definitely a favourite author! What a read. I always struggle to write reviews for books I like because it always boils down to *shrug* I liked it *shrugs more*. The characters were wonderful apart and together and I loved the pacing. I also love that the more I read the more I became invested in ALL the characters. I need more and soon.

I love Patience and Anthony. They are cute and tease each other so well. I love the humor in this book.

Fun rainy day/pool/beach book. Predictable but you love the characters. Patience is a lady who tries to prove her brother wrong by posing as a maid and prove she can work and be serious. But as a maid she is asked fo pose as a lady.

Well, I never would have picked this one up if it weren’t for a few bookstagram posts mention that it was funny, sweet and clean, which it was all those things, but it was also full of improbabilities. If I was rating this on being cleverly written or historically plausible it would get one star. My suspension of disbelief was severely challenged throughout. I had to think of it as an alternate, parallel universe as opposed to an actual, historical England. If you’ve read and love literature by the Brontes or Austen, or if you’ve watched PBS’s Manor House, or even Downton Abbey, you would know that this story is not possible. Therefore, I probably wouldn’t recommend it in general, but I read it in a day without skimming in anger, so I can’t say I didn’t like it. I just keep hoping to find something as delicately crafted as Pride and Prejudice and so every once in a while I fall for that “for fans of Pride and Prejudice” line, but just because it is clean and set in a Georgian or Victorian era with a romantic plot does not make it “like Pride and Prejudice”. It’s fine. I’ll probably just go reread the real deal again soon.
