When I first started this book, I was cringing real hard at the second hand embarrassment and almost stopped reading- BUT I’m glad I pushed on. Normally, I’d probably rate this 4/5 stars, but this was just so fun and I literally laughed out loud more than once. I will say, you kind of have to suspend reality and disbelief for a bit since a few things weren’t proper for the time period- but this was the first book that had me grinning and giggling while reading. Again, it’s not a total historically accurate in regard to manners and propriety BUT it was so sweet and cute and I giggled so it’s getting a 5, PURELY DUE TO VIBES, okay?

A good book – 3.5 stars! Characters were decently written (especially the loveable rogue Lord Bryant) though the premise and the end were a little weak. The last minute reintroduction of Miss Morgan as an antagonist was a hit and miss, especially since it wasn't well developed. The whole 'Patience never lies' trope was AWFUL, I wanted to omit that entirely since there is no part of this book during which we rely on her word (and she's a liar, because, faking your identity and all is lying and that was doomed from the get–go). But in general Patience and Antony were likeable leads, with their matching personalities of mischievousness and seriousness; their chemistry was good; the duchess–y slips were entertaining, and this was a satisfying read overall.

The initial premise of the book (her deciding to try out being a maid) was a little too unbelievable for me but I liked the rest of the characters and the banter.

that was very sweet book and i really loved both of lead characters. i also enjoyed the moments with their families and working staff in house. also so many funny moments hahah! ngl, first thing after finishing this book was checking if lord bryant has also his own book bcs he totally stole my heart too and it was heartwarming of him to care about patience. ALSO DON'T ASK ME WHY i started these series by second book. just don't.

this was a really cute and fluffy read. it is the exemplary huffleclaw of books. think newt scamander’s energetic enthusiasm for his fantastic beasts mixed with luna lovegood’s eccentric and unique personality (the one that sparked all our curiosity towards the nargles and their effect on the human brain). tHAT is what this book was.
anthony and patience were adorable. their respective personalities—anthony’s stoic, slightly rigid and broody with patience’s whimsical, carefree and vivacious—complemented one another so well and made for a good character growth arc.
if i were to have read this book back during my high school years, i would have surely given it a 5 (6-star even), but alas i’m not in high school anymore and accept that there were certain things in this story than could have been handled slightly better ().
nonetheless, i see no other fault with it and think it’ll make for a delightful summer read that could be enjoyed while you sit in your hammock in the shade or listened to while you sunbathe on your favourite unicorn floatie.

everything that happened after anthony learns of patience’s true identity—a lil too much cheese for menonetheless, i see no other fault with it and think it’ll make for a delightful summer read that could be enjoyed while you sit in your hammock in the shade or listened to while you sunbathe on your favourite unicorn floatie.

Lots of fun to read! Several laugh out loud moments, serious ones that brought tears to my eyes, and swoon-worthy romantic ones as well.
I’m excited to read the final book in this series!
