This was a different type of book for me. I don't normally read these types of HEA that deal with the idea of fate. Although not normally my cup of tea, the writer has me rooting for both the MC and LI while also making me love Max.

What I do like about the book is the idea that her dreams didn't just open Fiona up for her dream life, but it made her question whether she was truly living life when she was awake. For me, the best part of the book was the evolution of not just the MC, but everyone associated with her. Isn't it funny, when you start to live, it gives everyone else around you permission to live their lives as well. Also, I love that this dream allows McCormick to understand what he thought was love was not, just a facade of what used to be. Oh, I get chills thinking about it!

If I had to give any critique, it would be that sometimes the writer gets too hyper-focused on the surroundings. I'm not sure we need that much detail every time.

All in all a very good book.

Fated is a dreamy rom com with a sci fi twist.

I was immediately sucked in with the intriguing premise. However I have to confess I had some trouble relating to Fiona and Aaron, and struggled to make sense of some of their choices. The relationship dynamics throughout had a bit of a cheating feeling to them, which felt uncomfortable, and isn’t my cup of tea.

Having said that I love the creativity of Sarah Ready’s novels and really enjoy the playful sci fi that underpins her rom coms. While not my favourite of hers for the above reasons, it was an engaging and easy read, and I can see it being really enjoyable and accessible to a wide variety of readers.

I enjoyed it both as an ebook and audiobook, and thought the narration really helped to provide context to the story, with great characterisations of Fiona and Aaron. 3.5 stars, rounded up.

Thank you Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC and NetGalley for this book. Opinions expressed are my own.

Fated is the 3rd book in the Ghosted series and it's Fiona Abry's story. I am really loving this series. Each story gives us something uniquely different yet otherworldly and this was no exception. The author's brillance and creativity
amazes me as the story progressed and I was hooked unable to put this one down.

After an accident, Fiona's mother gifted her an antique watch that's rumored to show you your dreams when you sleep. A bit skeptical, she still decided you try it and wakes up on an island as Becca, a married woman with two children.

We are taken on a journey with Fiona, as she navigates her real life during the day and her dream life at night. As the story progressed she slowly starts to care for her dream family and starts falling in love with her dream husband.

The story was well written and easy to follow and gave us memorable characters, swoony heartfelt romance, some heartache, unexpected twists that blew my mind and an ending I absolutely loved. It was a fantasti  addition to this series and I would highly recommend it.

I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by Shakira Shute. She did a fantastic job with the narration, giving each character their own voice and personality and really brought out their emotions. She brought the story to life and it was a pleasure listening to her narrate this novel.

This book is so sweet!

Beautifully written, it takes you on a wonderous ride through a very interesting plot. Fiona gets to live a completly different life in her dreams, where she falls in love with the sweetest man, Aaron. It's very cute and you root for them the whole book. I didn't like to see her trying to love someone in her "real life" because, compared to what she had in her dreams, it just seems forced. Max is very sweet, but not the one.

I really liked the way everything fell into place, since I was wondering how it would work out. The only thing I'll say is that it was a bit hard to get into it at first because there was a lot of text and I prefer more dialogues, more action and less thinking. Plus, the dream world was so much better than her real life than I just kept waiting for her to go back so that I could enjoy it again.

Overall, very good reading experience; I quite liked it!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher; for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved it.

Okay, WOW! Fated is the 3rd in a series (Ghosted) by Sarah Ready that tangles up the wonder of magical realism with the joy of a romcom. I have found it to be my absolute favorite combination of story telling, however this book felt very different from the first two books in the series.

This is review is being written specifically to encourage those who have started Fated and are wondering how this book could even fit in the same category as Ghosted and Switched. It takes place in a time before Ghosted and doesn’t have an inkling of the same energy and humor of the first two. Keep reading! You will not regret it!

Like you, I was thoroughly confused by the serious tone and primly proper characteristics of the FMC Fi. In fact, I wondered a few times if this book was supposed to be set in the regency era. This is just Fi’s personality, but don’t let her careful persona fool you because she is about to become the brave heroine on an enormous adventure of love, loss, time travel, adventure, disaster and discovery!

While I spent the first half of the book trying to grasp how different it was from the others, I spent the second half marveling at how delightfully different it is from ANY other book I have read! This story is epic and sweeping! By the 80% mark, I was unable to put it down until the final words.

Fated is phenomenal and I believe the most beautiful of any of Sarah Ready’s books so far.

The narrator Shakira Shute has a gorgeous lilting accent that will only add to the feeling of being swept away to another place and time. She did a wonderful job with all of the voices, making each voice very distinct from the others which helped with following the storyline. I was so impressed!

I don't even know how to describe this book. It was kind of crazy at every turn. The little "Fi" "yes" was really cute. She was doing everything she could to make the people in her dreams happy and I loved it. I would like to see more of them at the end when they are all together.

I received an arc through netgalley.

This was a solid book but for some reason it’s my least favorite in the series so far. I just don't think I ever really connected to the main character, she just felt too one dimensional for me. The other two books in this series deal with heavier themes as well but they managed to be funny and engaging where I found myself kind of wondering if there would be any humor or banter here as I think that is what shined the most in previous books. Overall it was a good romance and the 2 characters had chemistry but it just did not work as much for me this time. I would still recommend, the settings were also really well done and I felt like I was in a tropical island and Geneva. It works well for a summer time read so for that I definitely recommend it.
