honestly the writing was really good and part of this rating is my fault for not realizing this was splatterpunk. but my main gripes were

the incest and the way they depicted the disabled character.

For someone who’s had a hard time finding “horror” books that I genuinely like, this one was actually very good! Altho, I personally saw more as a short, but disturbing psychological thriller… I would absolutely recommend to anyone having trouble finding a book that teeters on the line or horror and thriller but that satisfies both without being gory. This book has its shocking moments without leaving you too grossed out.
