Since I’ve seen the movie several times, I wanted to check out the source material. The movie version stays pretty close to this book, but I didn’t realize this was part 1 of 6. This means more to add to my TBR.

This book was a fun sci-fi ride through space. Great intro to all the characters. I feel like this was just getting all the characters established without a lot of action. I’m hopeful the adventures will pick up as the series moves forward.

4,5 stars!

When you mix Sci-fi with humor, it has to be perfect no matter what! This book was brilliant and fast paced. The plot was amazing and the characters was both funny and annoying! I loved how our two main characters are an "earthman" and what we would call an "alien". The book also shows how stupid mankind really is! Marvin was my favourite character, so funny! The number 42 will never be the same again.

Loved it! Probably going to read the second one! Let's see with I'm going to read the whole series :D

Perhaps not as good as the radio play it's based on in certain ways, exceeding it in others, but reaches that covered status where every joke is iconic and the wit and charm is overwhelming to the point of rendering the story functionally irrelevant. A flawless balance of absurdity and philosophy, bringing the silliness back down to an ultimately very introspective view of life and existence. Brilliant book.
