Loved this movie growing up and the book has always been recommended but never got around to it until now. A few months back this was at the second-hand store and I picked it up for something different to read. I finished rereading Anne Frank the other week and I wanted something a little lighter. On my one year wedding anniversary weekend, I started this and I could not put it down. So easy to read and totally different from the movie in all the best ways. This is just what I needed right now and wish at the same time I read this when I was 17. I will totally come back to this and recommend it. Now I'm watching the movie again and remembering why I fell in love with the soundtrack!
Not sure if I've mentioned before, but, I'm not a big fan of Nicholas Sparks. 'A Walk to Remember' and 'The Notebook' are the only books of his that I like. The reason I read 'A Walk to Remember' was because I saw the movie. The movie was better than the book. I would recommend it to people who like romance.
'A Walk to Remember' is the story of a teenage guy who ends up falling for the unpopular, goody two-shoes girl. She comes from a Christian family; her father is also a pastor. She is also a very sheltered girl. Which, I think, is because she is sick. There's not much more that can be said without giving away the whole book.

Was different from the movie but both were fantastic.
4.5 stars - only because it made me sob on my aunt’s kitchen table.
This is not the first (& will not be the last I’m sure) time I’ve read this (first read it my senior year or high school) & yet I still get teary eyed by the ending even knowing all too well what is the conclusion. One of Sparks shorter books but such a wonderful comfort read!
Well, that left me broken.
I've seen the movie adaptation 100+ times, I knew the story starting off; its one of my favorite movies of all time. But, it still ended up destroying me. So many feelings & I don't know what to do with them. The book did have its differences, but it was still familiar to me, which I enjoyed. Every time I come across Jamie & Landon's story it always feels like I'm being introduced to them for the first time. The book gave me a closer look to the movie I've known & loved for years now. I'm more than happy that I finally had the chance to read the book, it was everything I wanted & then some. Their story is one I'll never forget. Thank you Nicholas Sparks, for my favorite romance novel/movie, you're brilliant.

i think i would’ve liked this better if i hadn’t seen the movie, but the movie to me was just so perfect and made me feel more connected to the story. i almost never feel that way about book to movie adaptations but that’s the case with this one!
