I do love a book with a trio or quatuor of women linked together by friendship or family. This is really far from sisterhood of the travelling pants in its vibe. But similarly it had really satisfying and very different characters that come together and apart, you also get to see situations from the different sisters' perspective which was great. Enjoyed the descriptions of sisterhood as well.

The scene where Avery visits her mum was heartbreaking and felt so so real. I almost wanted more scenes between the girls and their parents. I hope Coco Mellors write more parent/children dynamics. I'm eager to read more from her!

The writing style was pretty but maybe not my cup of tea as much (a lot of metaphors!)

Absolutely amazing! The character development was top-notch—I loved how real and raw each sister felt. The way the book captured how different each sister grieved the loss of Nicky was so authentic. It really showed that families aren’t perfect, and grief affects everyone differently.

The themes of addiction were done so well and added so much to the story. I felt every emotion along with the characters, from happiness to heartbreak. This book has been my favorite of the year so far. I can’t recommend it enough! If you’re looking for something powerful and heartfelt, this is it.

is an alright book. as a proud older sister, i was intrigued by the concept and can relate to a few of the dynamics. i felt like some of the characters/plotlines were a little too static for my enjoyment. the last 100 pages — avery finally having a conversation with their mom, bonnie’s confession, lucky confronting herself — were all the peaks of the book i was waiting for, just at the end! really enjoyed the themes about addiction and learning to grapple grief, but all in all, a fine book. not as many strong emotions about it as i was anticipating.
