Wonderfully erotic.

Written well enough to be engaging without being exasperating, Nick and Abigail are lovely main characters.

As this is a novella, the timeline of their relationship is short, but sweet and steamy nonetheless.

Would recommend to anyone who is a fan of Regency/Victorian erotica.

Yet another pretty woman and good looking man fall in lust, realize they also fell in love, have a misunderstanding and it all ends happily. A very basic story that has a premise of being something more, but degenerates to bits of basic story in between steamy scenes.
The writer writes well, but the subject matter had been derided before.

This was a steamy quick read. I like the budding romance between the couple. I really liked how the character Abigail was portrayed as one who would not be cowed. The romance was a slow burn for me, but once Abigail and Nicholas came to an agreement on their affair the story picked up. The plot was great and the drama was even better.

This was fun, quick, and steamy. I'm a sucker for romances with governesses, so of course I was going to read this after getting it for free. I wish I knew the hero, Nicholas, better. I mean, he was so nice to Abigail, the heroine. But I got no sense of him as a person. Abigail herself was likable. Kind, loyal to her charges, and responsible. She was also a bit reckless, which was what led to the whole fling with Nicholas. Said fling was based on physical attraction, and we only got to see most of their emotional attachment near the end. Still, I liked this for what it was, and I'm glad I read it. If you're ever in the mood for a quick historical romance with lots of steam, go for this one.

Hot, steamy and wonderful

Could not put it down. Expertly written. The characters stay with you after you finish. Will read from this writer again.

Can hardly call her a governess if the kids are gone for over 90% of the story.

I loved this. I’m usually wary going into novellas because I often find they seem too short, leaving the story somewhat untold or lacking. But the author did a fantastic job of making this a fully formed story as if it were a novel, but condensed.

While the beginning of the liaison between the H and the h seemed a little clunky and somewhat unbelievable (h stumbles upon the H having a private moment with himself and decides to give herself some relief while watching him), I soon forgot about any hang ups I had because I was amazed at the attentiveness shown by the H in the sexual encounters.

I especially appreciated that:
