So to preface this, I was reading this in hospital a little bit loopy on meds so take this entire review with a grain of salt. Snowglobe is translated Korean young adult fiction, that’s basically about a dystopia where the entire world is a frozen tundra, and there’s a warm snowglobe but everyone in there is actors whose lives are being broadcasted for the masses all the time (think a little bit of squid-game/truman show) but YA dystopia. I thought the book was a little bit messy in places, but to be so honest it did the job I needed it to do which was be something easy to get into while I was sick. There were points in this book I found a little bit hard to follow (I don’t know if that was on me or on the book). I felt like there was a lot of plot which happened very quickly. Overall, this did the job.

I loved this book so much! It takes the dystopian YA genre and turns it on its head. Equal parts Snowpiercer and reality show, Snowglobe adds elements of our influencer and television obsessed culture into a compelling story. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone who loves reading about strong female characters with room for growth.
