This was my first dystopian novel in a while, and I enjoyed it. I mainly picked this book up because the cover is gorgeous 😍 It was an intriguing read and I’m interested to see what happens in the second book

After a snowy apocalypse, those who an afford it live in the Snowglobe, and those who can't live outside doing their time on energy-producing hamster wheels. The catch for residents of Snowglobe is that, outside of the elite family that produced this utopia and the directors that film them, their lives are serialized for the outside world to see. Our protagonist is an outsider who is sought out by a director to replace famed Snowglobe actress Haeri
who has recently died by suicide.
She agrees.

Deliciously readable. The dramaaaaa.
If you're Haeri and I'm Haeri than who is driving the plane!!

A lot of familiar dystopian future components put together in a way that’s just new enough to be fun to read! I think my only hangup is that a plot twist may occur and Chobahm is like “I had already figured this out long ago and here’s how,” because it interferes with the first-person storytelling, because no I did not. But the path through the explanation is clear and the bullet points were clearly stated along the way, so this is hardly a note at all, a skill issue at worst.

listened to the audio version to get myself out of my reading slump. it was fun but a little messy at parts. if the drama gets made id definitely watch it.

A tense, dystopian YA thriller about a young woman who is persuaded to leave her home in the frozen wastes to join the warmth of high-society in Snowglobe under disguise as a famous actress. As she finds herself sinking deeper into this new identity while under constant surveillance, she starts uncovering dark secrets. Kind of a mash-up between Hunger Games and Snowpiercer?

This took a little while before it became interesting but was fun once it did. I think the ending was a bit sloppy. I know this is a duology but I don't feel compelled to read the next one because I'm satisfied with the events of this. A creative interpretation of a future resulting from climate change, corruption, and loss of personal privacy.
