This was a very dark book, and I was not expecting it.  I really liked the way that the story alternated between the "present" timeline of the bank heist, and the "past" timeline of all of the different cons that Nora pulled with her mom growing up.  I also liked the slow uncovering of the mystery of all of the past girls that Nora pretended to be for her con artist mom.  However, I was not prepared for those cons to result in child abuse and child SA.

I loved the characters, especially Iris, and the plot kept my attention.  This would be a good read for folks who like grim books with a dark tone, especially ones where the villains get what is coming to them.

From start to finish this book left me on edge! It carried suspense throughout the book and I loved the storyline. Nora’s character sounds like a badass and her backstory was so sad. This would be so good as a movie!
