What a refreshing, bracing story. Nothing forced or wedged in to the narrative; the author never seems to be grasping for what to say next or trying to score didactic points. Every rabbit, every conversation, every fight feels solid and real. Just a breath of fresh air. I was more absorbed in this story than I have been in any other for quite some time.

It’s fine but I probably wouldn’t reread nor cared enough to get through this if i wasn’t listening to the audiobook. It would’ve been so cool to see more fleshed out characters!

It is hard to describe the beauty of this novel. It is rich and complex- Adams passages describing nature and the weather are stunning. But it is also such a deeply thoughtful and compassionate book - realistic and yet magical, mythic and grounded in the importance of community. In this book, it is the deep love for every rabbit Hazel and Fiver, Bigwig bring with them and then meet on their adventures that saves the day. Ok yes it’s about rabbits- but as Madeline Miller says in her introduction- this book is about “trauma and injustice and hope and courage, about friendship, leadership and community and what makes a good life”. I feel like more people should read this book - especially now — because it shows us through Hazel what a hero should be - kind, humble, compassionate, a listener who pays attention beyond what is good for only one’s self. Just as Octavia Butler’s The Parable should be required reading these days - I feel like everyone should read Watership Down to see what happens when a character leads with integrity

Metáfora con mil posibles interpretaciones que van desde "juntos podremos" a "sal de tu zona de confort" o "si quieres puedes".
Es una especie de cuento, sencillo, pero no por eso bueno.
