I did really enjoy reading it, but it lacks the sardonic delivery Karl nails in the series.

Hilarious and smart. Don't take it too seriously. Karl Pilkington is comedy gold. The show is great and the book is a perfect complement to the show.

If you've seen the series, then you will understand that the moanings of Karl Pilkington aren't so much a lack of respect or wonder, but just what a slightly practical innocent (or is he just extremely clever?) feels is the face of it all. That being said, there isn't really anything new that the book offers, its just everything in the series, just written down. I do have to warn people, though, that anyone who doesn't understand or enjoy Karl's special brand of oddball humour might get extremely annoyed by the guy moaning when he should be happy that he even got the chance to visit the places at all (That was my initial reaction).
This is a quick, light read that you can, in all honesty, skip if you've seen the series.

Hilarious travel diary with lots of funny comparisons of stuff from all over the world and Manchester LOL

An entertaining travel diary, but it gets old pretty quickly. The first two chapters were very fun to read, but after that it gets pretty repetitive and, dare I say it, boring.

Loved it, if you like the tv series you will like this, and it is written exactly how he says it, so there is all of his "Karl-isms" too. Brilliant.

After watching An Idiot Abroad religiously, when I saw this on the Amazon Kindle Store for only 20p I thought I'd enjoy it. I was right. Karl is hilarious, no doubt about that, although the TV show makes him out to be much more of a 'div' as he would say. It makes a very entertaining, easy read.

It's been a long time since I watched the TV show An Idiot Aboard. I have to say I dont feel the "moaning" of Karl is great humor in written form as you get more of his tone from the show. With that being said it was a short and light book that was easy to read and took me around the world while I'm stuck inside during the pandemic.
