It’s good and I’m glad the author is upfront with the content warnings. Please know this is not a lighthearted romance - it follows the typical arc of a romance but the trauma the main characters experienced and the toxic cycles they engage in as a result is front and center throughout. It’s important that we have a variety of love stories out there so those with trauma can see that they too deserved to be loved. But if you are looking for a romance for a sense of escapism, this would not be the one to read. Again, the book is wonderfully done and definitely needed to expand the genre, so I’m not criticizing it. I just know that many of us read romance to have a lighthearted escape and I wouldn’t want anyone to go in without knowing.

The first half of this is really slow but it does build the characters effectively! I liked the discussion about healing from trauma and setting healthy boundaries. I don't love romance myself, but I'll read anything Kacen Callender writes.

This was fun and heavy all at once, wholesome I should say 

I'm grateful for the trigger warnings by the author, that was really in place and right 

Some that I discovered 

•  sexual assault/ harassment
•  drugs/sex/violence
•  homophobia/ biophobia
•  suicidal ideation
•  depression
•  cyber bullying
•  parental neglect/ abuse
•  pedophilia

This would have been an easy 5 I loved it from start to finish and those cut in stories were also great but it was really that one traumatic conflict too long
 
Those social media retorts ; brutal !
 
I was fulfilled in the end and I loved how our really bad boy;
 
Logan ( more like disturbed) grew and found his way back to himself and to the really beautiful thing he had with Matt (saviour lol) and yh I must say it was yucks the way his (Matt's) flaw was being too good but we'd take it, haha
 
Thanks libro fm and hachette audio for my ALC, the narration was great too
