I read it out of a sense of duty to finish the story, but I really didn't enjoy it. The characters didn't seem to be well developed and their relationships with each other were largely forced. The concept of a time-viewer and lack of privacy are interesting, but I was bored with the descriptions and dives into "history." When I got to the last two chapters, I largely skimmed the pages because I just didn't care anymore. This is the first time in a while I have had this negative response to a book, especially a book I was eager to read.
Preachy; however ideas are terrific and visionary.
The concept of a remote viewing wormhole was an interesting exploration, and some of the speculation about historical events, from the final moments of Einstein's life to the beginnings of life on Earth, were creative and entertaining, as well as thought provoking. However, they got deep in the weeds on religious figures, and though I agree the historical record of someone like Jesus Christ is relevant and fair game (though of zero interest to me personally), I think they took this aspect WAY way too far. I quickly lost interest and almost didn't finish the book as a result.

I give up. I don’t care about anything that’s happening. All this talk of surveillance is just reminding me of this class i taught on media and crime… and nobody wants to read about stuff that reminds them of work
A confluence of a lot of interesting ideas that is ultimately just executed ok. Everything from mass surveillance to the origin of humanity is covered in a set of ideas that is almost too vast. At the center of it all is the time viewer - which is a concept that I thought I would enjoy more than I did.
Really this concept is executed better in PastWatch, the Orson Scott CRard. Ultimately though the story itself is just ok.
