3.5 stars | Very quick read. It had some parts I totally disagreed with, and some I could relate to -- overall, it was just fine.

I would be lying if I said I didn't read this with Arden's quirky voice in my head.
Almost Adulting is so genuinely Arden- charming, open and eccentric. I think I had such a strong connection to this book because of religiously following Arden on youtube but I'm sure that this can be enjoyed by those who are unaware of her youtube success as well <3 ;)

I feel like this book is advertised as something different that it actually is. As title and advertising goes this book feels like a guide. Guide to adulting which was the reason why I reached for it. It is not. It's pretty much a memoir. I don't read much of stuff like this. The begging felt a little like a guide, sort of (shout out to the title of the book), but then... it stopped. If I known this was more of a memoir book and on top written by a Youtuber, I wound't picked it up. Books written by Youtubers are not the kind of books I personaly want to read.

Probably the only reason why I finished it, was the fact the book was short and that it had nice humor.

Although the thing I didn't like was the fact that this book was some kind of love letter to her boyfriend, and in nearly every chapter he was mentioned. I get it, he's handsome, British accent, tall, perfect, nice. Unfortunately after some time it was tiresome, and maybe heck, I'm bitter single girl but swooning over a guy was not the book I signed for.

Overall, I didn't watch any of Adrens videos on Youtube, but she seems like a really cool lady, she has a unique voice and view on things. Although I wouldn't consider some of the advice she states in her book helpful, some points she makes are quite important.

inspiring reflective fast-paced

Its meh for 21 year old me with a bunch of advice that doesnt really say much beyond care less but I dont think 21 yearolds arethe target audience for this maybe someone that is 16 or 17 would get more out of this book.

This wasn’t terrible, but I definitely went into this book thinking it would be more of a self help book rather than random stories about the author. Although some advice was sprinkled throughout, it was really generic and kind of thrown in the mix.

I hate self-help books! So I tried reading the famous "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k" and after forcing myself to get through 5 long chapters of patronizing over-explanation and self-aggrandizing narration, I finally did myself a favor and gave up on it and turned to Almost Adulting! This book goes over the same exact concepts in the same light-hearted tones, and is essentially the same book but much more concise and in my opinion, much nicer and more enjoyable to read. As someone who normally hates these types of books, I actually really enjoyed this and would read it again.

I saw someone else's review mention that this is more of an exploration of how Arden "adults" rather than a guide for everyone else. I think it was nice to read some stories from her life and there were some interesting tips in here but nothing really ground breaking. I enjoyed it for what it is, but if you're looking for a book to really help you I'd look elsewhere.

I liked the memoir feel of this, even if I felt the content was lacking at times. And the illustrations were grand.
