I guess the advice is helpful when you're just starting off, but not if you're established. I thought it was going to be something totally differentnt. Overall, not sure why you wouldn't know some of the info though. Yikes!
***2.5/5***
Cute lil book but would read something meatier for life advice.

Fun, uplifting, honest read. I think I’m at a point where I’m past needing a chunk of the advice, and the advice can also be a tad duelistic for my tastes. but overall i’d recommend for someone in their late teens or early twenties!
"Maybe that's what it means to be an adult, you ponder: having your shit together. Yeah, that must be it."
I'm older than this book's target audience, but I still haven't mastered adulting. A lot of the early portion rang true to me, and I found myself wishing I'd had someone to tell me these things when I WAS in the target audience's age range.
The book starts off broad but exellent, with advice on working hard and pushing past the boring aspects of adulting in order to access the fun, successful parts. The rest of the book is more specific, not just to adult subjects, but to the author's life. Arden Rose shared about her struggles with trichotillomania, a long distance British boyfriend, and her dad's cancer. Those are interesting topics, and, broadly, ones that will impact most people at some point. But I preferred the earlier, more universal yet spelled out advice of the book's beginning stages.
Overall, Almost Adulting is a great gift book for people who know Arden Rose's work and those who don't, as well as people who consider themselves adults, aren't technically, or still have some learning to do. Which, let's be honest, is probably all of us.

I liked it. I listened to the audiobook and it was entertaining enough.
....... i think i'll stick to watching her on youtube lol. it's not bad, it's just pretty basic advice you can find anywhere on the internet for free. also i felt like her writing was all over the place? she kept switching from one topic to the next without proper segways? it was like i was reading a bunch of different articles by arden instead of an actual book. but tbh i wasn't rly expecting much so this wasn't a major disappointment. still kinda regret getting it impulsively tho, bc like all youtuber books, this was def overpriced.
Such a help I really needed this book 21 engaged and soon moving out for the first time answered so many of my qestions
I recommend listening to the audio book, it’s like one long multifaceted video of Arden’s and i think it’s more enjoyable that way! It’s a comforting chat through life’s ups and downs.
CW: disordered eating, mentions of sexual assault
I am not at all familiar with Arden, but it does not surprise me that she is a YouTuber. She narrates the audiobook and it is very well done. This was fun to listen to during a slow time at work and is a book I would have really liked to have back in high school.
