DNF. I wanted to finish this because it was a gift and I felt kind of guilty about it. However, this book is definitely directed at 18 year old kids who are only just moving away from home. I'll be 25 years old in a few months, have lived on my own for 8 years, buy things besides potato chips at the store, have investments and budget, and mostly consider myself a successful adult. The lessons and tips in this book were good but were also padded with lots of personal stories so that in 196 pages only a few basic pieces of advice were actually discussed. This would be fine if the book wasn't marketed as self-help and instead was portrayed as more autobiographical. It's not a terrible book but I am not part of the target audience anymore and that's okay.

I was disappointed by this book. I thought it was more of a practical guide to learning how to be an adult, full of hints and tips and lightly speckled with the author's own experiences. I wanted someone to tell me how to ace an interview, figure out my taxes and remember my washing, and properly also some good hangover cures and how to stay in touch with friends when you move to university. Sadly, it was mostly just a recount of the author's life and was much less a generic guide to adult living than a how-to for long-distance relationships and body confidence. I didn't really want that, so I didn't find it very interesting or useful.

While I felt that Arden's look at the metamorphosis from youth to adult endearing, the book felt somewhat lack luster to me. It was good, but not something I could sink my teeth into for a future read.

I enjoyed it, but like a lot of other people, i also think that this book should be branded more as a memoir than a self help book.
I listened to the audiobook and I really liked that Arden herself narrated it.

2,5/5

It was cute.

this was fun and had some good personal anecdotes and advise but also definitely more of an "this is me doing this" vs. "this is how to be an adult" though it was an interesting read
funny informative inspiring lighthearted fast-paced

I listened to the audio version of this book. Didn't mind it, not much to say but at the time of listening I enjoyed keeping up with Arden on her Youtube and social media. I wouldn't say this book had an impact on my life but it was fun to listen to!

I hadn't heard of Arden before this, but man this book was something I needed and I will probably reread in the future.
