There’s a pretty interesting romance between these two. It feels pretty conscious of how different their social standings are, and I like the non traditional outcome of Seo-an taking a more “submissive” role in intimacy. That doesn’t mean he’s a pushover tho lol which was fun. He’s also the one usually trying to reach out to Woo emotionally, being more blunt and communicative with his feelings—a welcome change.

You get to see how closely Seo-an holds Woo-won to his heart. The guy who looks more intimidating is actually really sappy in his thoughts sometimes, it’s very sweet.

Woo’s struggle with his father is not an especially unique plot point, but I think the author did a decent job of showing what that situation may feel like. The art uses a lot of negative space in those scenes to highlight the complicated feelings of isolation and hot-and-cold nature of that relationship.

The thing is that Im feeling pretty frustrated (esp in the latest chapters I read) with how they just won’t talk to each other. When they actually talk it feels productive, but they spend a lot of time recently going around each other to fix things without saying anything. It sucks especially when we’ve seen Seo-an be so upfront about major conflicts already. Now he’s tricking his bf into leaving his phone out to check, getting involved on the side, etc etc…idk I wished they would have just worked together over stuff like that instead. They’d make a good team.

A really slow burn.  The way their relationship built was very natural.

Update 1/12/24
Read till the end of sn 2. I don't quite like the direction that the story is going with these two failing to communicate. I'll not be changing my original rating atm though. We'll see what happens in sn 3

Initial Review 21/1/24
Read up to chapter 60 (aka sn 2 chapter 23)
