What a great ending to a great series. I loved every minute of this set of books about Polly, Huckle and Neil. I hope there’s a 4th now that I could imagine. Wonderful

Digital audiobook read by Anne-Marie Piazza

Book three in the Little Beach Street Bakery series, featuring Polly Waterford, master baker, her boyfriend Huckle, their friends Reuben and Kerensa, and the residents of Mount Polbearne, the Cornish coastal village in which Polly lives.

This is a fun chick-lit romance with some over-the-top coincidences and new-adult drama. Not much of a spoiler to say that it all works out with a fairytale HEA ending. I didn’t realize it was a series when I picked it up, and I don’t really feel that I was missing all that much for not having begun with book one.

I rather like Polly, though her indecisiveness and hesitancy drove me a little crazy. (I would probably understand her better if I’d read the previous books.) Her friend Kerensa is a mess, though. Polly certainly seemed to have enough on her plate without having to deal with Kerensa’s drama.

Have to say I really appreciated the recipes at the end – especially the hot chocolate!

Anne-Marie Piazza does a find job narrating the audiobook. She has quite a few characters to handle and managed to give them distinct voices. Huckle and Reuben being Americans required some stretch in providing authentic accents, and Piazza did make them sound rather stereotypical. But it was still a fun listen.

I've always loved my Christmas novels and this one was no exception. It took a little while to get into, and I was slightly concerned that it was the third in a series where I hadn't read the first two, but that wasn't an issue.

I really enjoyed the dynamic between all the characters and liked the way all the events developed.

I am giving it three stars because the book held my attention. However, parts of it to me seemed corny. For a book that markets itself as being humorous, I did not think it was that funny.

Z mé strany tak trochu útěk a nostalgická vzpomínka na Vánoce, uprostřed letošního horkého léta. A rozhodně nelituji. Tento díl, se mi z celé trilogie líbil asi nejvíce. A to i přes to, a nebo možná právě proto, že se zde oproti běžně zaběhnutému stereotypu, řeší o něco měně Vánoce a o něco více trochu těžší témata.

Didn't hate it, but also didn't love it. It's fine if you're after a light romance, but one that I will probably very quickly forget. The plot is very predictable and I didn't really connect to any of the characters. However, I didn't realise this was actually the third instalment in a series, so maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the first two books?

Absolutely LOVED this third installment of the Beach Street Bakery series. Colgan had me laughing and crying in spots as Polly, Huckle, and Neil shared life and love with all the characters that I feel like I’ve come know so well!! ❤️❤️

Is it the same author that wrote “little bakery on beach street”? I mean, there are so many inconsistencies! The father that read books for Polly before he die, in the second book has never met her. The mother that lives in a one-bedroom flat, in the second book has kept Polly’s room as it was when she lived there.
