So so so good. Definitely a favorite out of this series. Hooked and captivating!

4.5 stars. 5 for overall enjoyment, but there were many moments that made me roll my eyes. Certain story elements seem too easy or convenient to be wholy believable. A bit like a Marvel movie, if that makes sense. And some aspects of the writing drug me down a bit ("brutal" is a pretty strong word to use over 2 dozen times, in my opinion). But there are also themes here that I *love.* That I was so pleasantly surprised to see. One that I can mention without having to hide spoilers (though a couple of others surprised me even more) is the never named but clear PTSD. In how many popular action/fantasy/romance stories do we see characters deeply affected by all that gratuitous violence? Not many that I can think of, and I love how it's woven into this story. I think it's these surprising themes, the characters which are well developed here in book 2, and the relationships between them that mean I'll definitely be moving straight on to book 3. Well, and certain smokin' hot lead guys don't hurt the appeal either ;)

I am LOVING this series. I love that it is continuing to follow the main character. The ending shook me and I couldn’t wait to jump into book three. If you’re looking for a romantasy book that isn’t full of just smut, this is the book series to go with! Great story line and easy to follow!
