This is an incredibly unique, thought-provoking novel. It brings so many important questions to mind about humanity and both the best and worst of our nature. This should be required reading in every high school.

"My greatest wish for humanity is not for peace or comfort or joy. It is that we all still die a little inside every time we witness the death of another. For only the pain of empathy will keep us human."

Scythe was very thought provoking. It keeps throw at you questions upon questions. "What would the world be where death and mortality have been conquered?" "Should we take control of population by killing?"

Of all, what I learned and love the most from Scythe is humility. Because in humility, (as practiced by Scythe Faraday and Scythe Curie) I hope I'll be able to defeat arrogance, which is the disease I fear the most.

Neil shusterman is an excellent worldbuilder and this is no exception. Phenomenal setting and plot. I really wish we had been given more of a physical description of citra cause it’s difficult to picture her but an excellent read. Some of the characters feel a little shallow and tropey but still makes for an excellent story
