Listened to audio version, 3rd pov, 2 narrators. Thought overall it was good, the characters didn’t feel 1 dimensional and worked well together. Nothing overly memorable but an easy listen.

This was my first Sarina Bowen book, and I really enjoyed it. I thought the hockey dynamic was fun but still felt grounded. The workplace dynamic is also a tricky one for me, but I thought it was handled pretty well. I just loved how the male lead melted when it came to the female lead, and I loved their growth of trust in each other. There was a suspense side plot that didn’t feel like anything special, but I will definitely read more from this author. This was an interconnected standalone, and it instantly had me interested in other characters’ stories. 🫂👥🫅🏻☁️
"-can't find the butter, man!"
I wasn't a fan of O'Doul in Rookie Move; he appeared egoistical and a little standoffish. It didn't take long to realize I was completely wrong about him! He is a sweetheart and such a good guy. I fell head over heels. Ari is my new girl crush too; I want to take her yoga class. There is a perfect balance of sexy, sweet, and emotional. I am always impressed how Bowen incorporates sports (hockey/yoga) into the storyline; she has vast knowledge of the selected sport and it shines through in her writing. I feel like she and Ginger Scott own the "sports" in sports themed romance.
Fans of The Ivy Years will notice a few little hidden gems. I absolutely love when authors do this. I look forward to the next installment, but book 4 is my highest anticipation.

3.5 rounded up. Sarina always manages to handle some tough topics in a gentle way. I was a bit concerned towards the end that Ari was just going to ignore the whole wants kids thing....and it felt a little rushed and pushed under the rug. Aside from that though, this series always brings a smile to my face. Good spice, and a fantastic interconnecting world.
A hockey player and a massage therapist/yoga instructor become friends, and it's extremely cute! O'Doul doesn't date and definitely doesn't like people touching him, but Ari is great at her job and eventually makes him feel comfortable. In the meantime, she's dealing with an angry sketchy ex. Super hot too!
