I liked Patrick O'Doul and his back story. I liked Ari. However, I felt like the story became more about the bad guy than it did the love story, and then when we finally got our HEA it seemed to wrap up way too quickly for me.
Enjoyed this more than three first book in the series. Liked both Ari and Patrick and how the story and their romance unfolded. The drama was a bit much at times and the wiring can be stiff, but I still liked it.
I've come to love this series so much and I keep coming back to it. When I read Brooklynaire I didn't think I would continue with the other books but then I kept thinking about it, then I read Pipe Dreams which I also really liked and after I read the premise for this book I was super excided to pick it up.
Also, I'm reading these in the completely wrong order doing it backwards but what I like so much is that all the books so far are happening at almost the same time.
Hard Hitter sounded so good and I got what I wanted but I was also quite surprised to discover we got a small mystery addition to the plot with Ari's ex, but I enjoyed that part of the book too and at least it made the story more intriguing.
Ari was such a great heroine. She was very compassionate, smart and kind. I liked her personality a lot and I understood her apprehension about relationships. I pittied that she had go through so much trouble but she was brave.
Patrick was amazing. I had to warm up to him at the beginning but I fell in love quickly. He was adorable with his shyness around people and his not so great communication skills. He was so sweet to Ari and I loved seeing him fall for her.
I adored the scene when he asked his teammates for girl advice, it was so cute and hilarious at the same time.
I sympathized with Patrick too. He had a rough childhood and made a mistake with the pills but he was a really great guy.
The chemistry between Ari and Patrick was sizzling. I absolutely adored them together. They were so cute and great and they were hot. Like their sex scenes were everything. I also loved the small momets they shared, Patrick's gifts and just the way they took care of each other.
The ending was just a little underwhealming for me. It was subtle and sweet but I kind of wanted a little more. I wanted bigger words but I understand that's just not who Ari and Patrick were and the end was perfect for their personalities and their love story.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and I feel like I will read more from this series. I don't exactly know when but I will because I'm loving these books, the characters and their stories.

After Rookie Move, I was hoping for O'Doul's story, and I got it. Very entertaining, and maybe a bit too heavy on the "heavy." I could've done with less bad guy, more romance. That being said, O'Doul's foray into matters of the heart was lovely. A very enjoyable read.
Really enjoying this series! Looking forward to the next installment.

I'm surprised I didn't like this as much as the other installment of this series.
Ari, I like. Doulie, I liked. I don't know, he's so much different from the Doulie that I read from Rookie Move. I know that personality is a complex thing but I just didn't see it. It's like Rookie Move!Doulie is a different person from Hard Hitter!Doulie.
Plot-wise, it's not something out of the ordinary, but it is written very well. Can't wait to read Ari-Doulie crumbs in the next books.

At this point I'm putting Sarina Bowen's kids through college.
Reread:
I am here again. I am having a hard time and instead of addressing any problems in my life, I read about the most hetero people to ever hetero.
(Should I go to therapy?)
