Not as strong as the first trilogy and I’m really struggling to suspend my disbelief Nora!!! Some of this backstory is ridiculous even for a story with the Yakuza and regular torture!! BUT Jean is my pathetic little meow meow and I love him and his repressed sweetness. I don’t ship Jeremy and Jean yet (ship name JERN of course) and I’m a Jean Renee truther but I could be swayed in book 2. As always though, AFTG remains riotously fun to read

I never thought I would care for Jean Moreau and now he's in my top 5 aftg characters.

I love the way Nora switches between Jean and Jeremy. Its so good to see the different perspectives to see how Jean is fitting into LA, hes trying his best even if its not what hes used to.
